Prevention

At Foster Love Ministries, we believe children do best when they can safely remain with their biological families. Our Prevention Program works in partnership with Shenandoah Valley Social Services to support families who are at risk of separation.

When a family is facing a crisis, we step in to help meet immediate needs. This might include providing essentials like food, clothing, hygiene items, or emergency household supplies. By easing the stress that can lead to foster care placement, we help keep families together during difficult times.

Our mission is to strengthen families, build stability, and offer hope. By coming alongside them with care and compassion, we work to prevent unnecessary placements and promote lasting change in our community.

$25,000

a year

The average cost to place a child in foster care, covering expenses like housing, case management, healthcare, and education.

We provide diapers, wipes, and other baby essentials to help ease the burden on parents caring for young children. These simple items can make a big difference for families working to stay together and thrive.

Essential Baby Supplies

For youth who have aged out of foster care, we offer practical items to help them start fresh. Whether it’s bedding, cookware, or job-related tools, we help them settle into a new chapter with dignity and support.

Support for Young Adults

When a family moves into a new home, we step in with household furnishings to help them make it feel like home. Beds, dressers, tables, whatever is needed to create a safe and welcoming space.

Helping Families Settle In

From clothing to hygiene products to school supplies, we respond quickly when families face unexpected challenges. Our goal is to ease the strain so they can focus on staying together and moving forward.
