Executive Director & Co-Founder
Jen, a resident of Augusta County, Foster/adoptive mom, started FLM with Melissa with a small vision, and a very big DREAM.
Melissa
Co-Founder & Board Member
Melissa is an adoptive / foster mom who started this journey with Jen in an effort to change the stereotypes about fostering and find ways to support the children, parents, and resource families during the fostering process.
Catherine
Board Member
Catherine is a passionate advocate for youth in foster care, drawing from her own experience aging out of the system. Now a mother of two, Catherine serves on the board and is committed to supporting initiatives that uplift and empower local foster youth.
Rachel
Board Member
Rachel has been an FLM Board Member since 2023. Rachel has worked in the Rockingham County community with social workers, foster youth, foster and adoptive parents, and other service providers for nearly 20 years.

Meet the volunteers who make FLM possible.
Julia
Volunteer
Julia has a strong desire to serve our community through supporting children in care and foster parents. She is a member of our support committee serving the Harrisonburg/Rockingham area.
MaKayla
Volunteer
MaKayla is a bio mom to two children and adoptive mom to one. She and her husband are active members of their local church and are foster parents through People Places. She loves to cook for her family and stay active.

Kristin
Volunteer
Kristin lives in McGaheysville with her husband of 13 years. Together, they are dedicated foster and adoptive parents, as well as a respite care resource for families in their community. Kristin is also the proud mother of a spirited 4-year-old daughter.

Maura has been on the FLM Support Committee since 2024. Maura is a foster and adoptive mom at the local Shenandoah Valley DSS.
